IAMA’s 9th ANNUAL NEW WORKS FESTIVAL

IAMA Theatre Company, committed to cultivating new voices and creating boundary-pushing new work, will kick off its 2026–2027 season with our 9th Annual New Works Festival, running September 14–28 at Atwater Village Theatre.
Featuring six new plays presented as staged readings, the New Works Festival offers audiences an exciting early look at future hits while giving playwrights the opportunity to hear their work in front of a public audience and experience its reception for the first time. Since 2018, the Festival has served as a launching pad for new plays, many of which have gone on to become world premiere productions at IAMA and on stages nationwide.

Dina Katzman is struggling. As a novelist, as a mother, as a wife, and as a person. But when she begins talking to an AI Chatbot named Bobby, she discovers an unlikely confidant who always listens, never judges, and somehow seems to understand her better than most people. And he’s Jewish too! What could go wrong?
A site-specific production performed in two secret locations in Los Angeles - one Eastside and one Westside - to be disclosed upon ticket purchase. Produced in association with InHouse Theatre.
