LARA MYRENE, ProducinG DIRECTOR
LARA MYRENE (she/her) is a multidisciplinary theater and film professional whose career spans performance, stage management, production, and organizational leadership. She began her career in theater as a child actor and stage manager, developing a deep understanding of storytelling from both artistic and operational perspectives. During Frantic Redhead Productions’ 25-year run at the Edinburgh Festival, Lara rose from actor and stage manager to associate producer, establishing a strong foundation in international production and festival operations.
She earned degrees in Drama and Swedish from the University of Washington, and went on to work with Seattle Children’s Theatre and numerous Seattle-area companies as a stage manager before relocating to Los Angeles. There, she served as a stage manager for the Comedy Central Stage at the Hudson and stage-managed many additional LA productions, while expanding her career into film and media production.
In film and digital media, Lara has worked as an actor, producer, production manager, first and second assistant director, and production office coordinator across features, shorts, commercials, web series, and concert productions reflecting a wide-ranging skill set across narrative, commercial, and live entertainment formats.
Lara’s relationship with IAMA began as stage manager for Do Like the Kids Do, after which she joined the IAMA Ensemble in 2015. From 2017 to 2023, she served as Managing Director, playing a key role in organizational leadership, operations, and institutional growth. She now continues her work with IAMA as Producing Director, bringing together her extensive experience in performance, production, administration, and creative leadership to support the company’s artistic mission.
